Across the street from a book store, and at the crossroads of Beeker Street, and Main, there was a park. The Park was rather empty, as school was back in session now. It was cold, and all of the trees’ branches were barren. Despite the cold, and slightly depressing state of the park, it seemed somebody was still there.

He was picking through a garbage can, humming tunelessly to himself as he did. Cans, papers and various other pieces of trash were scattered onto one of the park’s path, having been evicted from the can. A few pigeons had gathered nearby, pecking at the remains of what might have once been a sandwich.

Everyone puts their phones in the middle of the table. Whoever cracks first by touching their phone, pays for the entire meal. The purpose of the game was to get everyone off their phones, away from twitter, facebook, texting, etc and to encourage conversations. In other words, help cure the “Anti-Social Social Media Craziness”. Here are the rules: 1. The game starts after everyone sits down. 2. Everybody places their phone in the middle of the table. 3. The first person to touch their phone loses the game. 4. Loser of the game pays the bill for everyone’s meal. 5. If the bill comes before anyone has touched their phone, everybody is declared a winner and pays for their own meal. Are You Game? (Taken with Instagram)

I’m okay p04 by ~Tagath
I saw this and it reminded me point-for-point what I did in an attempt to climb out of my depression a long while back. Anyone that does have a problem with this — like I sometimes still do — should definitely consider doing the same. It has helped to make my inner critic a lot less aggressive towards me… maybe it would work for you too?
